Meet the board

The Board of Directors of HGM Community Development Corporation consists of community leaders committed to improving the communities we serve. The board is a diverse group of volunteers with various backgrounds, experience, skills and education. This team of individuals work cohesively to promote the organization and obtain goals to meet our mission. 

Detries Morris
Board Chairperson

Dr. Morris is a doctoral-prepared family

nurse practitioner with 39 years of experience

in management and clinical practice. She

founded a rural health clinic in Mansfield

in 2009 and served as chief executive officer

and clinician. She is a grant writer that

donates her skills to the organization as an

in-kind donation. She serves as the Quality Improvement Officer of HGM CDC. She is an ordained minister at a local ministry.

Crystal Ward
Board Secretary

Miss Ward is a masters-prepared licensed clinical social worker and the owner of a behavioral health counseling agency.  She has a degree in Criminal Justice, Social Science and Gerontology. She provides services to those impacted by grief and loss, substance abuse, mood disorders, anger, domestic violence, incarceration, trauma, sexual offending behaviors, medical illness, LGBT issues,homelessness and other complex personal issues. She is an ordained minister at a local ministry.

       Dawn Malone

        Board Treasurer

Miss Dawn Malone is a retired state employee with her last eight years serving the Department of Revenue. She also worked as the office manager of a local rural health clinic for several years. She has been a resident of Stonewall in DeSoto Parish for over 22 years.   

Geraldine Anthony
Board Director

Mrs. Anthony serves as the director of the HGM CDC Food Pantry. She is a lifetime resident of DeSoto parish and retired teacher’s aide with 30 years of experience in the parish school system. She is an ordained minister at a local ministry.

Ronnie Morris, Sr.
Board Director

 Dr. Morris is the founder and registering agent of HGM CDC. He is a pastor of 21 years at a local ministry he founded. He has a doctorate degree in Christian Counseling and Psychology. He is a carpenter and donates his skills and talents to HGM CDC as in-kind donations whenever needed.

Evonne Taylor
Board Director

Miss Orrego has managed a finance company with over five years of accounting experience. Her Hispanic descent brings diversity and

helps to minimize the language barriers within the populations

we serve. She is an active member

of a local ministry.

Mrs. Taylor is a lifetime resident of Desoto parish, raised in Grand Cane and a graduate of Mansfield high school. She is an ordained minister and works with the youth in the area. She works as a volunteer staff with HGM CDC Food Pantry. She is a leader in the community and active in several organizations.

Julie Orrego
Board Director

 

Dr. Taylor is a pastor of 22 years at a local ministry, with 31 years in ministry. He served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years. He has a background with finances and accounting. He

has a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication and a doctorate degree in TheologyHe also serves as the volunteer safety officer at

HGM CDC.
